What does a Regional training center (RTC) do?
USA Wrestling, the official governing body of wrestling, instituted RTC’s to better the United States at wrestling as a whole. Freestyle, rather than Collegiate Style, is the designated style of wrestling at the Olympics and World Championships and the RTC program was designed to bridge that gap between the two styles. RTC’s provide additional opportunities for college coaches to further develop their individual program within the NCAA rules. This is why RTC’s have a strong function inside of freestyle wrestling.
